........

i have never posted this photo before. i always liked it but i could not find an appropriate title, a caption or a text that would be right and true - i mean both.

the place is memphis, tn, a backyard behind a common old house that used to be a small art gallery and store. it was next to a dentist office on highlands road. a few years later the dentist bought that property, it was a wise investment, indeed.

i took eva to the dentist appointment in a late october afternoon. there were many people packed in the tiny waiting room. as alwyas i stayed outside in the parking lot. it started to rain when i noticed the white silhouette in the bushes. i took my tripod from the trunk of the car. the nikon was loaded with my new favorite ilford xp2 super. it is a bw film which is processed in C41 type chemicals just like any color negative film. there was a hole in the metal fence so that i did not need permission to enter and make a few shots.

a few years later i needed to see the dentist. a note on the door of the tiny office informed the patients that the doctor moved to the new old house next door.
he restored it and cleaned up the yard. thus he acquired an attractive huge office space. meanwhile my photo became another painful memory of tooth aches and disappearing photogenic spaces.

welcome!
